This political subtext gives Absolute Hundred an unexpected resonance for what is, essentially, a well-acted but small-scale family crime-drama. And the amping-up of the stakes involved, not to mention Sasa’s transformation from quietly-spoken lad to steely-eyed killer, is thankfully much less jagged than the similar trajectory traced by the hero of Ken Loach’s overpraised Sweet Sixteen - a more melodramatic excursion into similarly tough, teenage turf.

synopsis
------------------------------
19-year-old Saša Gordić is the Junior Marksmanship Champion of Yugoslavia. His dishevelled older brother Igor is Sasa's hero. In his youth, Igor rose to the title of World Marksmanship Champion; however his experience in the war in Croatia and Bosnia- where he traded his sport gun for a sniper's rifle -has left him scarred. Returning home, Igor fell victim to the psychological torments of his former friend Neske, an affluent drug dealer. Because of Neške's venomous influence, Igor is now a desperate heroin addict. Sasa watches his brother's ignoble decline, as Igor is forced to sell his medals and trophies, traffic drugs and suffer all kinds of disrespect at the hands of Neske and his thugs. Days before the World Championship, Sasa's training is interrupted by his concern for Igor and by the bullying whims of Neske. Threatened by the same people who torment his brother- those who turned Igor into a junkie and now deride him for his dependency -Sasa decides to take matters into his own hands.
